You are now standing on Rue Benjamin Franklin. You are looking at a statue of Benjamin Franklin. Look down beneath the actual statue. You will see at the base there is a type of picture that looks like a plaque. This picture shows the signature of the Treaty of Paris, which ended the American Revolutionary War. On the ground in front of the statue there is a tablet. This tablet was offered by The Daughters of the American Revolution to celebrate the people who dedicated their lives to making the Treaty of Paris at the bicentennial of the signing of the Treaty of Paris. At the bottom, read carefully to see a quote from Benjamin Franklin that states, “The best of all works is the works of peace.”

Introduction

People associate the Battle of Yorktown with the end of the war, like they associate the beginning of it with the Declaration of Independence, but I happen to know that the end of the war was actually the signature of the Treaty of Paris. Oh! You don’t know what the Treaty of Paris is? Well let me just tell you about it, but first let's get something straight. That time when general Cornwallis laid down his men was not the end of the war alright. Let's begin.

What was the Treaty of Paris?

Have you ever asked yourself what happened shortly after the American Revolution, just two years after, to officially end the war, three people went to France to sign a treaty, conveniently called the Treaty of Paris. The people who went there were John Jay, Benjamin Franklin, John Adams. John Jay was born on December twenty-third, seventeen forty-five ,died on May seventeen eighteen twenty-nine, during his life he was a American statesman, patriot, diplomat, Founding Father of the United States, abolitionist, negotiator and signatory of the Treaty of Paris , second Governor of New York, and the first Chief Justice of the United States. Now for Benjamin Franklin He was born onJanuary ,seventeen ,seventeen zero six ,and died on April seventeen, seventeen ninety ,during his life he was an American polymath and one of the Founding Fathers of the United States. As a scientist, he was a major figure in the American Enlightenment and the history of physics for his discoveries and theories regarding electricity. Now let's talk about John Adams he was born on october thirty seventeen thirty-five, he died on July fourth eighteen twenty-six ,during his life he was an American statesman, attorney, diplomat, writer, and Founding Father who served as the second president of the United States.

How to Make an Important Document

First step: planing what's going in to your document, just like any piece of writing you write

Second step: plan how to balance your writing, so that people will sign it

Third step: Structure your document, just like any piece of writing

Fourth step: Draft your document

Fifth step: Edit your document

Final step: Present your document, and get people to sign it

Why The Treaty of Paris is Important

Have you ever wondered, why the Treaty of Paris deserves a part in this book, well here is why, because it made things official. Because it brought peace. Because it brought independence.

The first reason that the Treaty of Paris is important is because it made things official. One example was that it was an official document, this shows that it isn’t just spoken word, it is an official document. Another example is that Britain recognized America as its own country. This is important because, now that America could beat the most powerful army in the world other countries would ally with them. Another example of this is that it officially ended the war, this shows that yorktown didn’t end the war.last example is that delegates traveled long distances to sign the Treaty of Paris, this shows that it took a lot of work to sign the Treaty of Paris.

The second reason that the Treaty of Paris is important is that it brought peace. One example of this is that both sides agreed with it; this is important because the document now can not be broken, unless both sides agree to do so.The second example is that not only the colonists signed it, this shows that not only the colonies wanted freedom. My last example of this is that they couldn’t fight each other, because of a rule in the Treaty, this technically means that they can not fight each other, so that means peace.

The third reason that the Treaty of Paris is important is that it brought independence. One example of this is that, it brought the colonists rights, this is important because the colonists wouldn't've signed the contract if not.My second and last piece of evidence is that it brought american allies, this shows that people now wanted to be with America just because they beat Britain.

Conclusion

What did you think about this stop? Did you like, it or not, the Treaty was so important, I don’t know what america would be without it.Next on your stop, you will see the statue, of the Battle of Yorktown, and even if it says, the Battle of Yorktown was the end of the war, don’t believe it and the timeline doesn't really fit with the route, but it's fine, you'll get it eventually, on to the next stop.
